Acceptance & Commitment Therapy in Provo.
Building psychological flexibility so you can make decisions based on your values, not your fears.
Book Now.What ACT is.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps you build psychological flexibility. Instead of trying to eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings, ACT teaches you to change your relationship with them so they have less control over your behavior.
The core idea: it's not about feeling good all the time. It's about being able to take meaningful action even when difficult emotions are present. ACT helps you get clear on what you actually value and start making choices that align with those values instead of being driven by fear, anxiety, or shame.
What ACT helps with.
ACT is effective for anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, stress, addiction, and a wide range of other challenges. It's particularly helpful when you feel stuck in avoidance patterns, where you know what you should be doing but can't seem to do it because of how it makes you feel.
What it looks like in practice.
In sessions, we work on identifying the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that are keeping you stuck. We practice mindfulness, values clarification, and committed action. The goal is to expand what you're willing to experience internally so you can live a fuller, more intentional life externally.
